First, a stop at Tartine. I'd give up every possible food group if I could eat this for 7 days straight. Frangipane croissant. Ooh, hot buttered and dark golden brown, the way I like my men.

A stop inside Bi-Rite Market with Cafe au Lait in hand.

After asking my classmate if he'd tried Humphry Slocombe and he replying yes. "Let me show you who was making great ice cream before Slocombe came on the scene." A surprise pop-in. Brown butter pecan, Malted Vanilla with Peanut Brittle, Orange Cardamom (shocking flavors), Roasted Banana. I love that their banana tastes like a fresh fucking naner, but without that synthetic nauseating banana flavor.

Finally, we made our way to Alembic and had lunch. I personally prefer their dinner menu, but my classmate was moaning and groaning about the aching hole in his mouth where a wisdom tooth once stood...3 days prior! He's a trooper, I tell you. But, I sure felt bad for having him running around SF eating things that he probably shouldn't have been eating. Poor guy.
Jerk-spiced duck hearts and pickled pineapples.

Pretty eventful day, full of good food and good company.
