The Rolling Donut

I stood in front of the Ulster bank on O'Connell St. to use the ATM, there stood the Rolling Donut hut.

Stark white, blue letters, and the smell of sugar/cinnamon and fried dough drifting from the teenytiny window; where a constant blur of hands exchanged money and dough. I talked my hesitant traveling companion to stand in line with my 60cents and buy me a sugar doughnut, while I stood in the ATM line. The doughnut line moves faster than the ATM line, while I was one person away from the machine, my traveling companion pulled up with a sugar coated cake doughnut. Never did I imagine that when I sunk my teeth into it that it would be warm, but it was. It was soft with crispy edges. Not cloyingly sweet, but just enough granulated sugar to satisfy any sweet tooth.

My traveling companion purchased a chocolate covered doughnut, which I never got to taste. But, I heard that doughnut wasn't warm. So, don't sleep on the warm sugar doughnut.
